There are
several types of evaluations each of which is
tailored to the specific questions to be answered.
Evaluations can differ in
scope and in depth.
A brief evaluation
focuses on the present manifestation of a
selected area of development or performance.
A comprehensive
evaluation is an assessment of multiple levels
of functioning and the interaction between
developmental systems at a particular time in a
child’s development. Such an evaluation can
include assessment of intellectual development,
academic skills development, creativity, social,
emotional, and behavioral development, and
explores developmental history and trends as
well as makes predictions and recommendations
based on current and past behavior.
